Year 2008 has been a momentous year for us as we have successfully launched Kashf Microfinance Bank Limited (KMBL) which will offer a diversified range of financial products and services to low income wage earners as well as the self-employed of Pakistan. It will leverage and build on its associated company’s (Kashf Foundation) outreach and experience, as well as charter new paths as a regulated, deposit taking company, maintaining the group’s commitment to financial services for all. Our aim is to
become the cutting edge Microfinance entity that addresses the savings needs of low income communities by offering commitment based deposit products. We believe that transformation of low income households and small entrepreneurs is possible through a suite of deposit products that are demand oriented and are convenient.

We established Kashf Foundation in 1996 to replicate the great work of Professor Yunus in Pakistan. Within a decade of its inception, Kashf Foundation became the country’s premier private sector microfinance institution dedicated to providing financial services to women. Kashf Foundation has achieved several national and international awards in recognition of its contribution to poverty alleviation and sector growth. In early 2007, Kashf Foundation decided to establish a full service Microfinance Bank and by grace of Allah the bank commenced its operations from October 27, 2008. Moreover, SBP’s former governor, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar inaugurated the first branch.
Our aim is to alleviate poverty by targeting the unbanked sector. No doubt these are challenging times for us as well as for the country, where rising inflation coupled with the prevalent trend of recession has adversely affected everyone. In this situation our
organization is fortunate to have a staff of dedicated, energetic, hardworking and optimistic individuals throughout the organization who are working tirelessly to restore prosperity. Led by a professional team comprising of both microfinance and commercial banking expertise, Kashf Microfinance Bank Limited plans to reach almost 400,000 active borrowers and just over a million active savers over the next five years, delivering
client-focused products and services through a range of innovative channels.
Let us work together to provide financial opportunities to the unbanked sector all across Pakistan.
Sincerely,
Roshaneh Zafar |
